Financial Aid
The Financial Aid process for college is constantly evolving. It is important to understand changes such as the impact of the earlier availability of the FAFSA application, expanded use of the IRS Data Retrieval tool, year-round Pell-grant eligibility, and stricter review of students selected for verification. This  workshop focuses on introducing financial aid concepts, while providing steps on how best to be in compliance with all the requirements for a Financial Aid Office. We provide information to explain the verification process and what happens after you have completed your financial aid application.
First-Generation Programming
First-generation college students are a growing population in higher education. They are faced with a unique set of challenges and opportunities when it comes to navigating their personal goals for success. This workshop is designed to help in the development of first-generation programming and understanding the trends, policy changes, and challenges facing these students. There will be a review of cost-effective strategies used to help retain first-generation students within your organization
Current & Former Foster Youth Programming
The educational trajectory of foster youth in the United States is often delayed. However, there are foster youth who have been able to successfully navigate the educational pipeline and complete a college degree. This workshop will address the prohibitive factors impacting their educational pursuits and provide strategies on how best to support this student group within your organization. The workshop will provide details on understanding their needs and advocating for resources within your organization.
How to Support High-Achieving Minority Students
Many organizations deploy their minority resources towards  students who are accepted to the university through alternative or conditional admissions programs. However, there are high-achieving minority students who are raising the academic profile of their institutions. This workshop focuses on developing a community of support to help cultivate the intellectual, academic, and high-abilities of this student group. Strategies will be provided on how to programmatically engage with this population, expand upon their emerging talent, and identify scholastic opportunities in and out of the classroom.
Black Male Achievement
Black male students are outpaced academically by majority student populations and their Black women counterparts. There are educational gaps and barriers which impede upon their performance. This workshop highlights some of the challenges facing this student group. Utilizing  an strength-based approach, we place more emphasis on their achievement and discuss comprehensive strategies on how to replicate their successes within your organization.
